The past week third graders listened to the amazing story of Wilma Rudolph. We read, Wilma Unlimited, and discussed how she was able to overcome polio and become the fastest woman in the world. Students were engaged and had many questions about vaccinations and diseases and how we have come so far in the medical field today. However, students also pointed out we have a long way to go to cure other cancers and Alzheimer's disease. Students were so caring and genuinely concerned with how we can advance our knowledge and wipe out these diseases and hopefully find cures soon.
Next week we will take a break for a more "happy" subject matter.
